Tuesday of the Second Week
Reflection
Today’s readings made me reflect and think about the theme of serving others. We are called to do good, make justice our aim, practice what we believe is right, and be humble. We are reminded that to serve Christ we must serve others in a passionate way. We must serve one another with love.
The passage reminds us that we are not serving others to look good in God's eyes. These Scriptures make me reflect on the service opportunities that MOVE has given to me and my fellow students. The goal of MOVE is to provide service to others, not to pity and sympathize, but to show empathy. It is sometimes challenging to practice what we preach. We may believe helping others is a great thing to do, yet we are sometimes distracted by all the other tasks in our lives. These readings are encouraging because it reminds us to stay humble. Not all the service we do will be seen, and it is important to remember the real reason why we are called to serve.
We can learn a lot from Jesus, how He served and helped others. As we prepare for Easter during this Lenten season, we are reminded about everything Jesus gave up for us. Serving others doesn’t have to be as big as one of Jesus’ miracles; we can all be called to service in many different ways.
Prayer
Lord, please guide over those who are called to serve others in Your name. May they help those in need through the goodness of their hearts.
