 Wednesday of the Second Week

Reflection

We see in the Gospel reading for today that Jesus is preparing for a trip with His disciples to Jerusalem. On this trip, Jesus knows that He is going to be condemned to death. Jesus tells everyone with him that He is going to die, yet chooses to do it in a cryptic way. He allows His point to get across, yet does so in a way that keeps the meaning of His words concealed.

When we come across hard times in our lives, the answers that God gives us sometimes come in the exact same way. The answers that God gives us can feel like a game of Where’s Waldo. Waldo is there on each page; sometimes he is harder to find than others. Yet each time, we spend so much time focusing on the picture. We become so focused on the present and not on the bigger picture. Sometimes, all we need is to take a step back and our answers might just be staring us in the face, just like Waldo.

Prayer

Loving God, thank You for the wonderful people in our lives. Help us to focus more on them and show them the appreciation that we have for them.
