Thursday of the Third Week

Reflection
As we continue our Lenten journey each day, we must continue to trust in God.  While in these especially difficult times it may be more challenging to fully trust in His process, we must remind ourselves that God leads us through the deepest gorges and over the tallest peaks.

When God calls out to us, we must not turn away.  We must be aware that He wants us and we must listen to His calling, unlike the peoples of the First Reading in Jeremiah.  In Jeremiah’s account, he tells of those who did not show faith in the Lord and were cast to barbaric practices.  These people were called on by the Lord and they did not heed His word.  We must continue to follow the Lord’s calling in these extraordinary times.

By now we all know that the pandemic has caused dramatic changes in our lives and how we may treat others around us.  God has called us to be kind and true to others, we must continue this even now.  While we may not be able to continue our “normal” ways, we must adapt and grow to allow God to be fully present within us.  We must do as God has taught each and every one of us, we must spread kindness, not COVID.

Prayer

Dear God, allow us to hear Your almighty word and Your beckoning call.  As we are all brothers and sisters continue to lead me onwards.  Show me Your way even in these trying times.  Allow me to spread kindness to all of Your children.  Amen.
