Monday of the Fourth Week
Reflection
Today’s readings show us that the Trinity is with us at all times. Through all the ups and downs of life, God’s love for us never wavers. God is with us through the minor annoyances that can easily preoccupy us in the course of a busy day as well as through the major challenges of life such as our own illnesses and troubles as well as the illnesses and deaths of the people who are closest to us.

God is love itself, and we are in need of constant reminders of the necessity of maintaining our faith and hope in Him no matter what obstacles are put in our way. The problems that crop up every day in both our professional and our personal lives can seem overwhelming at times, but we must not lose sight of our call to follow the example of Jesus in His determination to be among us as one who serves. Jesus, the perfect servant, was forced to undergo many trials and tribulations in the course of His ministry, and we His followers cannot expect to have an easy time in our attempts to live up to the obligations of our call to service.

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are our constant sources of refreshment and renewal. With their help, we must fight bravely against every obstacle that confronts us in our efforts to live a life of cheerful and dedicated service. We must not lose sight of them as they accompany us on a journey that cannot always be easy. With their help, we can answer the call that has been given to us.

Prayer
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three in one and one in three, keep us ever mindful of Your sustaining presence as we go about our lives of service every day.
