Tuesday of the First Week
Reflection
In this first reading, the goodness of the Lord is promised to all who follow Him. Blessings will rain down from Heaven as gifts from God. Their essence of pure goodness will scatter and spread. In this manner, the goodness of the Lord will also spread continuously across all of His creation. Regardless of circumstance, the Lord offers us promises of hope, love, light, and goodness. We must only dedicate ourselves to faithfulness in response to His love. Since God provides us with His goodness, we may trust in Him.
College can be a tremendously scary time. There seems to be a never ending cycle of important decisions that need to be made. I know I can certainly be easily overwhelmed by it all. However, we may find peace in knowing that God has bigger plans for us in store. He knows what our lives will entail, and all the goodness of which they will be comprised. Therefore, regardless of uncertainty, we may hold onto God’s promise. We may trust in Him even when the future is unknown. We may believe in God’s goodness, and know that it is everywhere. In addition, we may pray to God and ask for guidance, so that we may act in accordance with His will. We may pray with fervor. We may tell God our hopes and dreams, and in return, watch for His actions in our lives. Through prayer, we may grow closer to God. We may become more aware and more appreciative of His workings in our lives. As the Lord makes the earth fruitful through His goodness, so He may make our lives fruitful as well.
Prayer
Loving God, we ask that in moments of uncertainty or fear, we may run to You. Let us take refuge in Your loving grace, presence, and constant goodness now and forever. Amen!
