Thursday of the Third Week
Reflection
We are living in a time that favors constant distractions, noise, fast-paces, and isolation. Thus, it can be very difficult to discern when and what God is speaking to us. We may often find ourselves spending our energy, speech, and time on the wrong things and straying from the path that God has laid for us. Much like the mute man possessed by the demon in the Gospel of Luke, temptations have the power to take us over and force our souls into a fatal silence between God and ourselves. God’s command is very simple: “Listen to My voice; Then I will be your God and you shall be My people” (Jeremiah 7:23-28). Sometimes, however, it is not always an easy command to follow.

Lent is an ideal time to strengthen our spiritual connections with God and to spend time with loved ones. It is a time for healing and for reconciliation. It is a time for finding both God’s voice and our own. Through quiet prayer and thoughtful meditation, we might come closer to God and be able to see His influence in our lives.
Prayer
Lord, this Lenten season, grant me the ability to hear Your voice and to follow in Your footsteps, that I may spread the Good News with joy and peace.
